Mass. Has 256 Known Cases of Coronavirus
Massachusetts has 38 new known cases of the coronavirus, according to state figures.
There are now 256 positive test results in Massachusetts, the Department of Public Health says.
There have been 2,271 tests completed, a jump of more than 900 since Tuesday. The state public health lab has tested the majority of people, with more than 500 tests completed at other labs.
The state also issued new quarantine numbers Wednesday. More than 2,000 people have been subject to quarantine, with more than half — 1,168 — still under monitoring or quarantine.
That's almost twice the amount of people who were under quarantined last week.
Mayor Marty Walsh said Wednesday that 45 of the known coronavirus cases are in Boston.
Correction: An earlier version of this story misstated the number of coronavirus cases in Boston. It is 45.
