More Than 1,000 Now Reported Dead Due To COVID-19 In Mass.
More than 1,000 people have now died of COVID-19-related illnesses in Massachusetts, according to state health officials.
The latest data released Wednesday shows 1,108 deaths are now attributed to COVID-19. There are 29,918 reported cases in the state.
Franklin and Hampden counties in Western Mass. have been hardest hit, with a higher death rate per capita than other parts of the state.
Men and women have been equally affected, with a nearly 50/50 gender split of those killed. About 85% of those who died are 70 or older.
