In late August WBUR published an investigation into a Massachusetts law that keeps reports of sexual and domestic violence secret in order to protect survivors. The investigation found that law wound up being used to protect perpetrators and police officers accused of sexual and domestic violence, while creating difficulties for victims seeking recourse. Because of WBUR's reporting, Massachusetts lawmakers have now vowed to revisit the law. WBUR senior reporter Ally Jarmanning joins Consider This host to discuss the updates, as well as the process behind reporting this story.
