No Strike For Harvard Janitors As Deal Is Struck

Harvard University will not face its second labor strike in less than a month.

Early Wednesday, Harvard settled on a new contract with its janitors.

Last week, the janitors had voted to authorize a strike if no long-term contract was reached.

The union representing more than 700 workers said the tentative four-year deal includes a 12.5 percent raise, and employer-paid health care.

Janitors still need to ratify the agreement.

Last month, Harvard dining hall workers went on strike.
