Five immigration activists staged a sit-in at Sen. John McCain's (R-AZ) Tucson, Ariz. office on Monday. Three of them, who are undocumented immigrants, now face deportation hearings. The group is fighting for Congress to support the Dream Act, which would provide a path to citizenship to undocumented immigrants, who were brought to the U.S. illegally by their parents. Under the act, the young people would have had to come to the U.S. before they were 16 and attended at least two years of college or served two years in the military. The deportation hearings for those detained are set for next month.
