A government official in Britain told the AP that terrorists had plotted to strike locations in Europe with shooting sprees similar to the one that took place in Mumbai, India in 2008. The plot, according to the official, was in “its embryonic stages,” but is still active. Our guest is Peter Bergen of the New America Foundation.

Hopes Soar For Trapped Chilean Miners

33 miners trapped underground in Chile for nearly two months could be out sooner than originally thought. Rescuers digging to reach the men say one of their drills has cut through 164 feet of rock in 24 hours. At that rate, they could be ready to bring the men to the surface by the middle of October. The miners have been trapped a half mile underground since the mine collapsed on August 5. The BBC's Piers Scholfield joins us from the mine with an update.

Phil Collins Covers Motown

In his more than 40 years in the music business, Phil Collins has sold more than 100 million albums. He's won multiple Grammy awards and even an Academy Award for his work. On his latest album, "Going Back," Collins pays tribute to the music he loved listening to as a boy growing up in London during the '50s and '60s with covers of Motown hits like "Ain't Too Proud to Beg," "Heat Wave" and "Jimmy Mack."
