Slideshow: Long-hidden Garden Comes To Salem, Mass.

An 18th century Chinese emperor created a classic garden as a retreat within the Forbidden City. After the Communists took over, they closed the doors on the garden and for decades it remained hidden and untouched. When the doors were re-opened decades later, experts were astounded to find a fully preserved imperial garden, with its art and objects intact just as they had been designed. Many of the objects, art and garden components are now on display at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Mass. The exhibit is called: "The Emperor's Private Paradise: Treasures From The Forbidden City," and in it, Americans get to see the garden that people in China only dream of seeing.
