The U.S. is offering diplomatic and security incentives to Israel in an attempt to persuade the country's leaders to renew settlement limits and get back to peace talks with the Palestinians. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu presented the proposal to his cabinet Sunday, but there's resistance from parts of his right-wing coalition.  What are Israelis saying about the settlements? Is there public debate about their legitimacy? And has the country's political left-wing lost clout in the argument? Wyre Davies of the BBC has the story.

This segment aired on November 15, 2010.
