GOP and Democratic negotiators meet for a second day to consider extending Bush-era tax cuts. Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell says the group has already resolved to extend the tax cuts to everyone, not just the middle class as the White House wants.

Meanwhile, Democrats in the House have scheduled a vote Thursday on extending the tax cuts for the middle class only, in a maneuver intended to force Republicans to take a stance. Looming over the tax cut debate is a vote tomorrow on a tough budget-cutting proposal from the president's deficit commission. We speak with commission member Jan Schakowsky, a Democrat congresswoman from Illinois, who opposes the commission's proposal.

This segment aired on December 2, 2010.
