Colleges Outsource Grading Papers To Asia

More than a dozen universities and colleges in the U.S. are hiring virtual teaching assistants in Asia to grade students' papers and assignments.

Supporters say the outsourcing gives professors and on-campus teaching assistants more time to do other tasks. But critics say having virtual teaching assistants  takes away from the student experience.

We speak with Chandru Rajam, co-founder of Edumetry Inc., a business that offers virtual teaching assistant services. Rajam is a visiting associate professor of international business at George Washington University.
