White House Sees Progress In Afghanistan War, Despite Challenges

The Obama administration's year-end review of strategy in Afghanistan concludes that this year's troop surge has diminished the influence of both al-Qaida and the Taliban.   The report finds that challenges remain, but the U.S. can begin to pull out troops in July.

The size and pace of troop withdrawals are now up for debate in the White House and the Pentagon. We get the latest from Rajiv Chandrasekaran, associate editor at the Washington Post.
