Lame Duck Session In Illinois Raises Taxes, Governor Says 'Fiscal House Was Burning'

With less than 12 hours to go before their term ended, Democratic lawmakers in Illinois voted to close the state's $15 billion budget deficit with sharp tax increases — raising the personal income tax by 67% and business taxes by 64%.

The bill passed without a single Republican vote. We speak with Ray Long, State House Reporter for the Chicago Tribune.
