In his new memoir, "Against All Odds," Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown reveals that he was molested by a camp counselor when he was 10 years old, and abused by his stepfather.

Brown's book is the latest in a long line of memoirs by politicians, but Ben Yagoda says it's a rare combination of political and trauma retrospective. Yagoda, an English professor at University of Delaware and author of "Memoir: A History," tells us how Brown's book coincides with the current trend of politicians releasing memoirs as they're building their careers instead of after.

This segment aired on February 21, 2011.
