Online Game Simulates Life Of Working Poor

The interactive game,"Spent," challenges players to avoid homelessness for a month as they navigate a series of difficult decisions, like whether to spend money on health care or on monthly bills, and how to handle unexpected expenses like a child's school field trip.

The game, produced by McKinney Advertising in conjunction with the non-profit, Urban Ministries of Durham, NC, has been played almost a million times in countries all over the world. We speak with  Jenny Nicholson, one of the minds behind Spent.
