The NBA and the NHL finals are underway. In the NHL, the Vancouver Canucks beat the Boston Bruins last night to take the first game in the quest for the Stanley Cup. Meanwhile, the Miami Heat and the Dallas Mavericks go at it again tonight in game two of the NBA final, after the Heat took game one.

Columbus Dispatch Sports columnist Michael Arace says the finals cap off an entertaining season of close games that has fans pleased and must have "snack-food and beer sales... spiking."

Arace has covered both pro basketball and hockey for more than twenty years.

This segment aired on June 2, 2011.
