Republican presidential candidate former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman, who staked his candidacy on a strong showing in New Hampshire, has dropped out of the GOP presidential race and is backing Mitt Romney.

Huntsman said the former Massachusetts governor is Republicans' best hope at defeating President Obama in November's general election.

Huntsman, the former ambassador to China, only placed 3rd in New Hampshire. And polling suggested that comedian Stephen Colbert was more popular with South Carolina voters than Huntsman!
