Country Music's Truth-Telling Appeal

On Thursday, the nominations for Academy of Country Music Awards were announced. Kenny Chesney led all performers with nine nominations, including Entertainer of the Year. Grace Potter also received three nominations, all related to her duet with Chesney, "You and Tequila."

Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, Brad Paisley and Taylor Swift also received multiple nods.

Country music is the most programmed format in the United States and it's growing. Wade Jessen, Nashville senior chart manager for Billboard Magazine, told Here & Now's Monica Brady-Myerov that country music appeals because it tells the truth and expresses the entire range of human emotion.
