One year after the massive earthquake and tsunami, more than 3,000 people remain missing. The search for them continues. Nearly 16,000 are now confirmed to have died.

The BBC's Damian Grammaticas has been back to see what has happened to survivors, including the Suzuki family whose story he reported in the days after the disaster.

This segment aired on March 9, 2012.
