The next round of recall elections in Wisconsin begins with a primary on May 8th.

Democrats will choose candidates to run against four sitting Republican state senators and the state's Republican governor, Scott Walker.

The recall vote is meant to be a referendum on the Governor Walker's move to eliminate nearly all collective bargaining rights for the state’s public employees.

But the vote in Wisconsin has become a test run for the national elections in November, with pro and anti-union forces pouring millions of dollars and testing strategies in Wisconsin.

  • Mary Spicuzza, state government reporter for the Wisconsin State Journal

This segment aired on April 30, 2012.
