Just as quickly as it made headlines today, a story--- about how a proposed Republican ad campaign linking President Obama to his controversial former pastor Jeremiah Wright-- was shot down, by the deep pocket Republican at the center of it.

Joe Ricketts, TD Ameritrade founder and family owner of the Chicago Cubs, says the ad campaign he'd discussed with Republican strategists will not see the light of day.

The ad campaign was first reported by the New York Times.

Guest:

  • Rick Klein, senior Washington correspondent for ABC World News and co-host of the network's political web cast, "Top Line."

This segment aired on May 17, 2012.
