Imagine spending a month of your life living off Craigslist. That's what 29-year-old Joe Garner did. Equipped with a laptop, a cell phone, a toothbrush and a sense of adventure, he set out to discover if he could make it across the country surviving only on what he found on Craigslist: ride shares, meals and conversation.

Garner is from Los Angeles and works on films, including "The Hangover," and "Hangover" star Zach Galifianakis is an executive producer on the film.

Garner said while he has a full life with plenty of friends, he sometimes feels isolated from others. And he wanted to see if the same digital devices that can isolate people could also be used to make connections. The journey took him across the country, and it's documented in the new film "Craigslist Joe."

Along the way, Garner met a slew of characters: Iraq refugees in Seattle; a hoarder in New York City; a dominatrix in Chicago.

Garner said all of his experiences were positive, but he also warns people that Craigslist can be dangerous, and you need to use common sense when meeting strangers on the web.
