Suicide bombers killed more than two dozen people in Nimorz Province Tuesday, targeting a bazaar where people were waiting to celebrate the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.

These attacks follow a recent spate of what is called "green on blue violence" in the country. At least seven American servicemen have been killed in the last week either by men they are training or men dressed in green Afghan uniforms. The Taliban is claiming responsibility for some of these incidents, but U.S. officials say that can't be verified.

So far this year, more than 30 NATO troops have been killed in attacks connected to Afghan security forces and according to the New America Foundation, only one other year, 2011, has had more of these attacks.

  • Rajiv Chandrasekaran of the Washington Post, author of "Little America: The War Within The War For Afghanistan"

This segment aired on August 14, 2012.
