Known For Its Banks, Charlotte Looks Towards Entrepreneurship

Think Charlotte, and you think banking: Bank of America is headquartered here and Charlotte is second in banking to New York.

But some in the business community say innovation, new energy and high tech will soon drive the region. On our visit to Charlotte for the DNC, we visited Packard Place, an old car showroom that's been converted into an incubator. The first floor is home to non profits, the next floor up houses dozens of for profit start-ups in tiny offices.
