The tech world has seen a lot of bad press in recent days.

First, it was sexist apps being presented at an annual industry conference. Then on Tuesday, a bigoted Twitter feed got the chief technology officer of Business Insider fired.

In an industry dominated by men, the gender imbalance is showing up in the recent flurry of sexist controversies.
