Obamacare Fight At Forefront Of Fiscal Debate

If you feel like you're experiencing a case of déjà vu, you're not alone. On Capitol Hill this week, lawmakers are back to debating the budget and debt ceiling.

House Speaker John Boehner embraced a plan yesterday backed by many House GOP members that would provide funding to prevent a government shutdown while simultaneously gutting the Affordable Care Act.

This puts the Obamacare fight at the forefront of the fiscal debate.

Boehner has called for a Friday vote on the measure. NPR's Ron Elving joins us to discuss the political implications.
