How do Iranians feel about President Hassan Rouhani’s visit to the United Nations, and what do they hope will come of it?

Ali Akrami, a 35-year-old mechanical engineer who lives in Tehran tells Here & Now that he's hopeful the U.N. meeting will lead to the end of sanctions against Iran.

"We want [President Rouhani] to change Iran's relation between Iran and U.S. and Europe," Akrami said. "Iran and United States are not enemies."

Akrami said the sanctions take an immense economic toll on normal Iranians.

"We want this boycott to end," Akrami said. "And [the] first action for this is that President Obama and President Rouhani meet there, together."
