Texas State Senator Wendy Davis became a well-known figure after her mammoth filibuster on the state senate's floor back in June.

She was trying to prevent the passage of a Republican-backed bill that contained some of the toughest restrictions in the country on clinics that provide abortions.

The bill was eventually passed, but the move catapulted the Democrat from Fort Worth into the national spotlight.

Davis is expected to rise to the podium again tomorrow, this time to announce that she's running for governor of the Lone Star State.
