It has been more than a week since Typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines. Today, government officials promised to restore power to everyone on the islands by December 24.

The storm was one of the strongest ever and it left thousands of people dead and thousands more homeless. The devastation means that many churches that were not damaged have been filled with survivors praying for those who were lost.
