Wednesday was the first day of Chicago's annual Christkindlmarket. The holiday market in the Windy City was inspired by the Christkindlesmarkt in Nuremberg, Germany, which began in 1545.

Chicago's Christkindlmarket began in 1996, and a major part of the market is Glühwein — a traditional mulled wine consumed in Germany and Austria during the holiday season.

Bea Heinz is in charge of the Glühwein at the market, and she joins us to discuss the drink and why Chicagoans love it.
