Sea Mammals Descend On Monterey Bay For Anchovy Feast

For the past five or so years, there has been a low population of anchovies. But this year a "perfect storm" has brought tons of these silvery blue fish close to the shoreline.

Humpback whales, sea lions and dolphins can all be seen enjoying the anchovy feast in Monterey Bay.

Baldo Marinovic, a research biologist with the Institute for Marine Sciences at the University of California, Santa Cruz, joins Here & Now's Meghna Chakrabarti to discuss the phenomenon.
