Germany Reaches Deal On Minimum Wage
ResumeThe U.S. isn't alone when it comes to a tug of war over the minimum wage. It's also happening in Germany, where as a condition of forming a coalition government with the Social Democrats, Chancellor Angela Merkel has agreed to implement a minimum wage there, as of 2015.
It will be €8.50 an hour, which is about $ 11.50 in U.S. dollars. There are concerns in Germany, just like there are in the U.S., about the consequences of that. The BBC's Steve Evans reports from Berlin.
