Snow days — they're the white stuff of school kids' dreams. They turn a snowstorm that blankets the neighborhood into a day of fun and playing.

But now, some districts in New Hampshire and Ohio are calling snow days "Blizzard Bag Days," when students must work on assignments at home.

Here & Now's Jeremy Hobson speaks with Jerry Frew, superintendent of one of the first school districts to implement Blizzard Bag Days, about these snow days with a catch.

Guest

  • Jerry Frew, superintendent of the Kearsarge Regional School District in New London, N.H.

This segment aired on February 21, 2014.
