World's Most Wanted Drug Lord Arrested In Mexico
ResumeThe head of Mexico’s Sinaloa drug cartel, Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, was captured over the weekend by U.S. and Mexican officials in the Pacific coastal town of Mazatlan.
Guzman is one of the world’s most powerful drug lords and has escaped capture for more than a decade. Grand juries in at least seven U.S. federal district courts have already issued indictments for Guzman on a variety of charges.
NPR's John Burnett joins Here & Now's Meghna Chakrabarti to discuss Guzman’s long-awaited capture, and how it will affect the Sinaloa Cartel.
