Pentagon Chief Proposes Shrinking Army Even More
ResumeIn a speech today, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel will recommend cutting an additional 40,000 to 50,000 active-duty members from the Army, which had already been scheduled for troop cuts after more than a decade of war.
The cuts would make the U.S. Army its smallest since World War II. Hagel will also propose cutting an entire class of Air Force attack jets.
