Arizona Governor Vetoes 'Religious Freedom' Bill
ResumeArizona Governor Jan Brewer had until the end of the week to decide whether or not to veto a bill pushed by social conservatives that would have allowed people with sincerely held religious beliefs to refuse service to gay people.
But the measure stirred up a national debate and drew such sharp criticism from the business community and politicians from both parties that she wasted little time in calling it unneeded and could cause unintended damage.
Brewer vetoed the bill last night. Peter O'Dowd of Here & Now contributing station KJZZ in Phoenix joins Meghna Chakrabarti to discuss reaction.
