The International Monetary Fund today pledged $18 billion in loans to prop up Ukraine's sinking economy.

The IMF's aid package comes as the nation's prime minister, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, warned Parliament that Ukraine is "on the brink of the economic and financial bankruptcy."

Yatsenyuk laid out details for fixes needed to put the country back on track, including raising taxes, a freeze on minimum wage and radically higher energy prices.

The BBC's Irena Taranyuk joins Here & Now's Robin Young from Ukraine to discuss the latest.
