Japan Relaxes Arms Export Ban

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe says his country should adopt a more proactive security policy to respond to China's expanded military and the North Korean nuclear threat.

As part of that new strategy, Japan will ease its self-imposed arms export ban. The relaxation will allow Japan to jointly develop arms with its allies and give its defense industry access to new markets and technology.
