Supreme Court Strikes Down Overall Limits On Campaign Contributions

Supreme Court justices ruled in a 5-4 vote today to strike down regulations that restrict the overall amount of money individuals can donate in political contributions to candidates, political parties and political action committees.

The high court did not strike down the limits on individual contributions to candidates for candidates for president or Congress, set at $2,600 per election.
