U.S. Economy Added 192,000 Jobs In March
ResumeThe U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released its monthly jobs report on Friday. According to the report, the economy gained 192,000 jobs in March while the unemployment rate was unchanged at 6.7 percent.
The job gain matches last year’s average monthly total, suggesting that the job market has mostly recovered from the previous months’ severe winter weather. However, home sales and construction have been weak in winter months, likely due to the cold weather.
NPR's Marilyn Geewax discusses the report and how the weather affected its outcome with Here & Now's Jeremy Hobson.
