Two Coal Miners Dead In West Virginia Accident

The West Virginia mine where two men were killed in an accident last night had been cited for a "pattern of violations" by federal officials in October 2013.

After that citing, federal officials said they would increase enforcement of safety regulations at the Boone County mine. Brody Mine No. 1, where the accident occurred, is owned by St. Louis-based Patriot Coal.
