Steelworkers Help Patrol In East Ukraine
ResumeSteelworkers are now patrolling the streets of Mariupol, the second-largest city in Eastern Ukraine, and pro-Russian separatists have fled government buildings they'd been occupying.
This, after Ukraine's richest man urged his workers to help restore order in the city. Steelmaker Rinat Akhmetov this week he broke his silence and weighed in on the insurgency that's been dividing the country.
Edward Lucas, a senior editor of The Economist magazine, discusses this development with Here & Now's Sacha Pfeiffer.
Lucas is not as optimistic about the situation in Ukraine as the latest Economist headline: "Despite all the fighting the country could just hold together after May 25th." He says Russia has largely gotten what it wanted by humiliating the West and destabilizing Ukraine.
