Minimum Wage Effort Gets A Boost

Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick signed legislation today raising the state's minimum wage to $11 an hour by 2017.

The move in Massachusetts comes on the heels of other states that have or will be raising their minimum wages. So far this year, 10 legislatures have passed minimum wage increases this year, including Vermont, which will raise its to $10.50 by 2018.

So what does organized labor think about this and how does it affect the bid to raise the federal minimum wage? Richard Trumka, president of the AFL-CIO, joins Here & Now's Jeremy Hobson after attending the signing of the bill this morning.
