Detroit's New Mayor Gets A Mixed Review
ResumeThe latest report by the Detroit Blight Removal Task Force shows that more than 78,000 buildings — 30 percent of the city's structures - are dilapidated. Another 114,000 parcels of land stand empty.
Detroit's landscape was pretty much an empty pallet back in January when newly elected mayor Mike Duggan asked residents who were thinking of leaving the city to “just give us six months to prove that we can turn things around.”
Those six months are up and the mayor's performance review is a mixed bag.
