Would you trust a preteen to bake your wedding cake? You might if it's Imogen Von Mertens. When family friend Tracey Kallman was getting married, she asked then 11-year-old Imogen to make her cake.

Neither Imogen nor Kallman were ever worried about her abilities, but the young baker admits that her parents were "freaking out." But guests loved the lime cake with berry compote and vanilla frosting, topped with fresh berries, as well as the 110 cupcakes in various flavors.

Here & Now's Jeremy Hobson met the now 12-year-old wunderkind and Kallman, the bride and patron.

Imogen baked a batch of peanut butter banana honey cupcakes, and a batch of key lime pie cupcakes for the occasion.

These aren't her favorite flavors, though — in fact, she said she doesn't really like cake.

"I prefer tiramisu and crème brûlée," she explained. "I'll try [cake]. I come up with these flavors and I'll try them. I'm like, 'Okay, they're good, they're perfect.' But then I sell them."

Imogen sells her baked goods through her own business, Imo Cakes and Cupcakes, which is run out of her hometown of Hancock, Mass.
