Former Top Chinese Official Targeted By Investigation

China's former security chief Zhou Yongkang is being investigated for suspected "serious disciplinary violation," according to state media. He headed the country's Ministry of Public Safety and was a member of the top decision-making body in China, the Politburo Standing Committee.

He is also the most senior Chinese official to be investigated since the Gang of Four, which included the wife of the late leader Mao Zedong, in the early 1980s. It's part of a crackdown on corruption being conducted by China's President Xi Jinping.

The BBC's Damian Grammaticas in Beijing tells Here & Now's Robin Young that the move is "about the exercise of power in China."
