What does it mean to "be a man?" How do you define "manliness" and masculinity?

This summer, NPR's All Things Considered has taken a deep dive into the mystery of masculinity in America in the 21st century.

The "Men in America" series introduced listeners to short men, tall men, single dads, immigrant men, and gay rugby players.

This week, the series comes to an end. NPR producer Melissa Gray, who spearheaded the project, joins Here & Now's Robin Young and Peter O'Dowd, who was a contributor to the series.
