Embattled NFL Commissioner Breaks Silence
ResumeThis afternoon, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell made his first public comments in more than one week about how the League has handled players accused of domestic violence.
The League has faced intense public scrutiny over its response to security footage showing former Baltimore Ravens player Ray Rice punching and dragging his unconscious then-fiancee out of a casino elevator.
Rice was initially suspended for two games, before public outrage prompted the League to place him on an indefinite suspension.
Another football player, Adrian Peterson, was indicted by a Texas grand jury on a child abuse charge.
Here & Now's Robin Young speaks with The Boston Globe's Shira Springer about this latest public statement.
