Spending on political ads this election cycle is on track to exceed $1 billion, according to a new study by the Wesleyan Media Project. That translates into roughly two million ads in House, Senate and gubernatorial races.

But not all ad campaigns are created equal — especially in terms of bang for their buck. Here & Now's media analyst John Carroll talks with host Robin Young about the volume of ads and who's behind them.
