An investigation will take months, but National Transportation Safety Board officials think the co-pilot of Virgin Galactic's SpaceShipTwo may have prematurely slowed the rocket on Friday, causing it to explode.

It was the second launch failure in one week of a privately-developed rocket. The explosions are prompting re-examination of private company involvement in space travel.

Andy Pasztor, who covers the aviation for The Wall Street Journal, writes today that the two explosions are prompting questions about the "the future trajectory" of private space companies. He discusses the implications of the explosions with Here & Now's Jeremy Hobson.
