Tensions Mount In Jerusalem
ResumeIsrael deployed more than 1,000 police today to deal with possible violence, as Muslim worshipers flock to a hotly contested holy site in Jerusalem for weekly prayers.
The deployment comes two days after riot police clashed with Palestinians at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, Islam's third holiest shrine. To Jews, it's known as the Temple Mount and it's their holiest shrine.
Israeli-Palestinian confrontations have escalated in recent days, with clashes between stone-throwing Palestinians and Israeli riot police. Palestinians have also carried out two deadly vehicle attacks in recent weeks.
Does this signal the approach of a third intifada? Here & Now's Jeremy Hobson discusses the situation in Jerusalem with Yolande Knell of the BBC and Aaron David Miller, a leading Middle East analyst.
